Hamilton Village Care Centre expands use of Toch Sleepsense ensuring personalized and improved quality of care for all residents

Tochtech Technologies is delighted to announce Hamilton Village Care Centre, now part of Buron Healthcare, has expanded its commitment to Toch Sleepsense. With this second phase deployment of Sleepsense, which commenced in July 2023, all 135
residents will benefit from Tochtech’s ‘next generation bed alarm’.

“We are excited to be moving forward with the second Sleepsense installation as we have been able to experience first-hand the benefits of Sleepsense for residents and for the care team from the first installation of 60 beds. Equipping all beds with the same technology and standardizing on policies and procedures throughout the residence can only improve quality of care for our residents, and better support our staff” said Melissa Bawtinheimer, General Manager, Hamilton Village Care Centre.

Sleepsense enables care staff to be automatically notified when a senior gets out of bed, has not returned to bed or in the event of a medical emergency while in bed. Additionally, sleep quality data of each resident captured will enable care givers to adjust care plans and add interventions to address sleep issues.

“We are delighted by the decision made by Melissa and her team to increase investment in the Sleepsense technology as it proves the value Sleepsense brings to residents, care staff and families” said Jessica Yang, CEO of Tochtech.

Hamilton’s investment in Sleepsense has been supported by EquipCare, a BC government funding program for long term care that is managed by BC Care Providers Association. “We sincerely appreciate BC Care Providers and the Equipcare BC Program as it enables innovative care solutions, like Sleepsense, to be possible and improve quality of life for both residents and staff.”  added Melissa Bawtinheimer, General Manager, Hamilton Village Care Centre.
